A wallpaper is judged on a phone, so this site is one
Galleries show you a grid of thumbnails and leave you to imagine the rest. Here every wallpaper fills the screen under a clock, the way it will look once it is set. Scroll with your thumb, tap the picture to hide the clock, and press Get it: the site crops the file to the exact resolution of your iPhone, in your browser, and you save it to Photos with a long press.
Where the pictures come from
Two sources, both free and both named on every wallpaper's page. About two thirds are made in code: gradients, auroras, contour maps, flow fields and true-black OLED designs, each rendered at 1320 × 2868 from a recorded seed. The rest are public-domain works: woodblock prints and paintings from the open-access collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, photographs by U.S. government agencies, and images from NASA and the James Webb Space Telescope (ESA/Webb, credited as their licence asks). Nothing here is a stock photo, and nothing is an official Apple wallpaper.
Sizes
Each wallpaper downloads in 1320 × 2868 (iPhone 18 Pro Max, 17 Pro Max) and 1206 × 2622 (iPhone 18 Pro, 17, 17 Pro). For any other model, from the 2007 original to the iPhone Duo, see every iPhone wallpaper size or let the Get it button crop it for you.
