Wildlife iPhone wallpapers

Field photographs from U.S. wildlife agencies, macro shots from a federal insect lab, and birds from Edo-period prints.

Most of these photographs were taken by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, NOAA and the U.S. Geological Survey. Work made by U.S. federal employees as part of their job is in the public domain, which is why a fox on an Alaskan island or a fly's compound eyes can be offered here freely. A few come from photographers who released their pictures under CC0, and the birds are woodblock prints from The Metropolitan Museum of Art's open-access collection.

Several subjects carry over from the 2007 site: the giraffe, the squirrel, the ladybug, the praying mantis, the fly, the black panther and two clownfish keep their old addresses, with new pictures.
